About the owner
Joseph A. Fee started his career in public accounting as a Certified Public Accountant with KPMG Peat Marwick in the audit and tax departments. His client base covered a broad range of industries and included many IPO engagements. After six years of progressive audit and tax experience he moved into the private sector where he served as controller, treasurer, and management consultant, VP of operations, and general manager of privately-held companies. In addition, he has owned and operated his own printing company and was the principal in a management consulting practice.
Over the past twenty years, Joseph has applied his training and experience to the area of physician medical practice management. The size of the practices he managed ranged from groups as small as five and as large as 29 physicians. His career included private medical practice management, ambulatory surgery center management, and hospital-owned physician medical practice management. In each of these medical practices, his responsibility covered recruiting employees and physicians; overseeing the day-to-day operations of clinical and non-clinical support staff; financial management and reporting; contract negotiations; policy and procedure design and implementation; and marketing and strategic planning.
Joseph has consistently served as a highly effective professional, especially in areas of business start-ups, private-sector and not-for-profit business turn-around engagements. His clients/employers have included companies in construction, manufacturing, distribution, and healthcare. Without exception, each company with whom Joseph was associated, either as an employee or as a consultant, experienced improved employee and customer satisfaction in addition to improved operational and financial results.
In addition to receiving his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee, Joseph has received additional training in areas specific to the health care industry, problem solving, and effective leadership. He has continued his education in areas of finance and operational management through such associations as the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), where he has been a member since 1993. Joseph has been elected to various boards of directors and has been a facilitator/trainer in areas of personal growth and achievement.
